Man I love my 12v

I am not bashing the 12V but I guess my post came across that way. My intent was to defend the HPCR system.

The 12V is a good motor with a good injection system. It just won't meet current emissions and some people(myself excluded) don't like the noise. The 12V alone is not necessarily able to produce 1000HP, the fuel system is, in a MODIFIED form.

Personally I am really happy with my truck the way it is. Plenty of power with a warranty still intact, customer friendly-4 doors and quiet, and still has the simplicity of the Cummins with a fuel system that is very simple. It will get 20+ MPG as long as I keep my foot out of it. :D

Once people figure out the HPCR system and get the fuel to flow you will see big numbers.

Ok... . You want to talk apples to apples.

I know of a few 12v'ers running around that are curbing over 8,000lbs. They also get over 20mpg.

I have not heard (doesn't mean it hasnt' happened) of a HPCR truck hitting 20 empty yet.

Josh

depending on speed traveled I can get over 20mpg... 55-60mph it's possible. I have yet to try long distances with my nitto 295's tho.

Best summed up in a previous TDR magazine article, a couple years ago when the p-pumped trucks had been around for almost 7-8 years you all were scracthing at barely making 400-450 HP. The common rail has been around for 3 years and we have already got some in the 700 HP range. Give us time. We won't have any trouble making HP. :D

Well, I wouldn't go by that as law. I mean, a TDR GOD insisted that First gens were maxed at 300 HP, done kaput. There is several over 600hp.

P-pumped trucks were out in 94, Bruce Mallison had 350 usable HP almost immediately, I'm sure the Kentucky boys were squeezing them that high also.

Also keep in mind, the early BOMBers traded for new ones, and knew where to start. Diesel virgins buying 03s were hard to come by, I'm sure.

Our point is that this truck is all motor. You could pretty much bet that if we took 2 identical vehicles and stuck Keatings motor in one and in the other vehicle anyones elses motor (at this moment) with only water added to the mix, Keating would probably be across the line first. There seems to be so few people that have the ability to go fast with only engine build technique. The motors Keating runs contain more "recycled" parts than most people would suspect; it would boggle most peoples minds. Can't wait until we start to add some of the parts he has been working on this winter.

might also depend of who's calling the shots on the chassiss in the other lane
