I have a 2002 3500 dually automatic (love it) and this weekend I moved a 24000 lb track hoe on my trailer. I questioned power a few times taking off at a light but I do realize I was pulling a LOAD. The problem came up when I was backing the trailer into my yard, it sank about 3 inches and the truck came to a hard stop. I put the truck in drive and at one point had it to the floor and couldn't get over 2000 rpm's and just couldn't even spin a tire. When loading the track hoe, I kept tracking it forward until it squatted the truck a pretty good bit, so I know the tires wouldn't spin easily, but I figured sitting in wet grass the tires should have turned. Either pulling the trailer out or atleast just spinning. Something just seemed like it wasn't getting enough power. Any suggestions???????
