Looking at the DDP injectors for my ride, should I replace the injector tips or the whole injector. There is a big difference in price. :eek: That is if I'm looking at their web site correctly.

Which is easier, do they work the same, can a person really justify the added cost. I'm thinking it will be a tough sell to the wife. :-{}

Nothing crazy the 50hp version will work just fine for my needs.

Thanks,

You want the tips!

If you exchange your entire injector, then you could get someone elses injector body with 150k plus miles on it. You never know. I'm sure they're tested, but still...

I believe they send you the tool to swap tips when you buy them. Send it back and you get your core charge back.

Someone has to have a good comment about the title to this thread

GO DEEP:-laf

Seriously though, are there issues with the bodies or is it generally cracked tips that cause problems? Isn't there somebody doing body rebuilds on your for $100 each when you buy tips? That was the route I was going to go.

F1 can rebuild your bodies when he sells you a set of tips. IIRC your price range is about right...

I had Flux 1s installed... the injectors bodies were rebuilt at that time. That is one of the benefits of buying Flux 1s, they rebuild the injector (for a slight added cost).

I guess that is the question, with a 130K on the truck do the injector bodies need to be rebuild. OR will they be OK for another 130K with new infector tips. I would hate to spend a little money now on tips and then need the bodies rebuilt or replaced later. MO MONEY:-(

My bodies were in bad shape at 143k, but they seem to be out of the norm too.

F1 will go through your injectors, and repair those that need repaired... its hard to beat his deal.

I was recommended three injector places... Dynomite, F1, and Industrial Injection.

The F1s were the better deal in my case since he rebuilt all my injectors for a little over the cost of a single new injector.

I just installed the DD's in my friends truck and they are great. I also tried to get the injectors inspected and flow tested by a shop while they were out. I was told that there are only a couple of places in the US who have the machine to test our high pressure injectors due to the high price of the equipment. I visually inspected the injectors, made sure that the old tips were not cracked and put them back in. His truck only had 20,000 miles on it so we figured that they were probably OK. When i do mine which will be soon, if i cannot find a place to test my injectors localy, i will most likely send them to F1. this is because i will have around 100,000 miles on them. The reason why F1 is my second choice is because i dont trust anyone;). Just me. The power you get from the injectors is from the modified tips not the injector bodies. There are people out there with well over 200,000 miles without ever touching one.
