Well I lost my mads catcher ecm due to a reflash which was necessary. After owning the truck for about 1 year & 3k miles. I now know what stock is - it sucks. I would say I lost major hp and I can't stand it. I now go flat at 2500 rpm's, before would pull very hard right to redline, before I would light the tires (high tq at low rpm's and much sooner & higher boost), now I don't even know if they would spin. So I am in the market to buy a Smarty s-03 with revolution. I will stick with a smarty, because I had no problems with my mads ecu and the other brands seem to make more HP/Tq but have issues. I can't have any high dollar parts to fail from a bad programer. I could not do any changes with my old set up (pre handheld), but it made good hp,tq and diecent milage. The truck was fun to drive! I hate spending $, but I am looking forward the improvments done over the last 3 years with the smarty. I was planning to dyno my truck before this happened. Now, I was thinking of some dyno runs 1. stock settings, 2. then jump to #9 (which is close to my old set up), 3+ then play with the different settings. I was wandering if the timing, torque settings, injector length, etc, all that can be set with the new revolution would show up on the dyno, it should, right? Then the dyno would show what settings are the best for my 5" banks exhaust, rv275's and stock turbo & intercooler, right? So did anybody replace an old mads ecu with a smarty revolution like I will be doing? Did anybody try different settings using a dyno? What should I expect?

It is now available. Go to madselectronics.com and check it out. It has a lot of settings you can fine tune with, that are new. Or just look in the recent threads for input.

I did. I had one of Marco's first batch of CaTCHER reflashes. It's identical with the pre REVO #9. The REVO #9 with adjustments all turned up is very similar but maybe just a tiny bit hotter. It smokes slightly less too. I've never dynoed.

"maybe just a tiny bit hotter" WOW, sounds good but I was hoping to get more a detune feature & milage improvment. When the streets are wet, even with new mud/snow tires and a loaded (toung heavy) trailer, I can't pull out on a hill AT IDLE without wheel spin. So I drop it in 4wd and then back out to 2wd when moving.

You can do that by finding what combination(s) work with your truck.

I would bump the timing to one of the higher settings, but watch your EGTs, for the mpg. Back off on the torque to minimize wheel spin. IDK if the duration would hurt or help, play with it to find the sweet spot.
