help on buying Edge Comp

Has anyone tried the NV4500-5600 trans cooler???

does anyone have some information on the anti_defueling device from JVD engineering. does it allow you to extend the rpm's before cutting fuel or what? will it work with a comp edge?

I am guessing your refering to the lil boost module they offer? Or are you talking about the fueling box they offer? If its the boost module there is no reason to get it because the COMP has it built into it. If your talking bout their fueling box then no you can not use a COMP and another "major" (attaches to pump wire) together.
 
I was told on the phone last night that DD will be comeing out soon with a add on box to extend fueling from 2700 RPM to 3100 RPM's before the pump will start to defuel.

I was talking about the plug in that they have called the ADD. Page 11 of issue 33 of TDR. It seems to be a boost module. When people post saying they have a custom Edge comp box does that mean they have more power or a broader rpm range?

I just looked at it in the Issue 33. That is just a simple boost module. So you will not need it if you purchase a COMP, it has the boost module feature built into it. Well I haven't seen anyone really post much about a "custom" Edge COMP, I have seen people post about different PowerMax COMP programs. I am inquiring right now actually with Edge about a different program for some more fuel.

When I was at Diesel extravaganza, Van from JVD, put a final prototype unit on my truck to try. I have run about 3500 miles since then in the last 5 weeks or so.

I had only added the Power Puck and the ADD allowed me to run further into the RPMs than before.

While I was at Diesel Extrava. I also bought a set of Scheid's Hi Flow injectors. I put them in about two weeks after I got home. I have WAY more power available with this combination than ever before. I watched the dyno runs there as well.

JVD ran a 99 3500 4WD AT 3. 54 truck (Jims) three times. They already had Scheid Hi Flow injectors in the truck. I don't recall the number but the first run with just the ADD. Then with the Torque Enhancer on the GREEN setting, about 300/700 (from memory), final run with the TE on RED setting. Something like 375/900 on the ground.

I have noticed a solid 1 mpg gain on the return trip from IN with just the ADD.

I've known Van and the people from JVD for quite some time now and have been running one of their boxes on my 2001 eversince they came out with it. The ADD works well with both box and injectors. Basically these guys are right in the fact that is does keep your truck from defueling throughout the whole RPM range. I noticed a huge difference when i put one of their prototype ADD's on. Van's black 01 ETH put somewhere around 475 rwhp at Scheid if I'm not mistaken. You can look at Scheid's webpage to see the results. I deffinately recommend their products. Hope this helps
