Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) K&N Cleaning Kit on an AFE Filter?

I was wondering if the K&N cleaning kit would work on My AFE filter. It's a pain to have to order the AFE stuff and pay shipping. Just wondering. Thanks

i used my old k&n cleaning kit on my afe intake before i had an actual afe cleaning kit. its the same thing from what i can tell. a pump bottle of cleaner, and an aerosole can of oil. only difference is the color of the dye. you should be fine.

The K&N oil could crud up you intercooler pipes- the AFe stuff is supposedly "safe" for intercoolers-
