ok; the topic has been filter versis filter, it sounds like they both use an oil treatment, and i can understand the the over oiling causing the oil coating etc. in the intake system, now, heres my question, is there a way to remove this oil coating from the blades of the turbo, and the interior of the intake, that is accsessable, with out causing damage to the blades, like an aerosol spray cleaner? because if you do- you have residue to contend with and i don't think this good because of the close tolorence. i also have a k&n, and opened the adapter through the fender for more air. stoped the closing of the restrictor gauge. wanted cooler air--

I have had my K&N in for 17k miles and my turbine blades are still shiny. If you need to clean your, try some q-tips, they wont bend anything or be a problem. Honestly, i dont know if carb cleaner would be ok, it would do a great job cleaning them, but i think it would be very BAD once you started your truck.
