Is there a trick to pre-turbo EGT probe?

I am looking for an answer regarding the K&N,
can one be used in the stock air box or is this not a good idea? I am sure this topic has been covered but I have not been able to locate it, thanks DOC NIELSEN

You can use a K&N in a stock airbox, just use the air filter sealing grease. If you go off road alot, you may want to consider the Amsoil only because it has foam which acts as a prefilter. The preffered method is get rid of the airbox alltogether, get a K&N RE-0880 and a 25-0880 prefilter and attactch it directly to your stock air hose. Lots or power, lots of noise, works great.

Yes there is, it's what I use. If you live in a dusty area I would not recommend it. Some go with the round style and remove the stock air box, and for more filtration they add a foam piece over that. For me the stock box+K&N work great. I'll try and find the P/N for you.

Edit: K&N part # 33-2056

I installed a K&N in the stock airbox. I noticed an improvement in the turbo spooling up. Next I removed the stock airbox and replaced it with a K&N RE-0880 with a red
25-0880 prefilter cover. I noticed the turbo spooled up faster sop.

I have the K&N stock-box filter, and I am in home construction. This winter, I just used the K&N as it came from factory. However, for our dusty summers, I'm going to remove the foam pre-filter that came with my stock D/C filter and glue it to the bottom of my K&N. I think that will help a lot.
