Can anyone give me a part number for a '01 OEM-K&N replacement air filter? Summit could not come up with one, only went to '99. They also called K&N and they couldn't help with an '01 application. TIA--Ron

I was gonna say, there's a different factory style part number for the over valved engines, but the only difference is they have a piece of foam on the bottom of them, and the K&N from the properly valved ones should work fine. Oh, glad K&N came up. Awhile back, there was a thread about finding that sealing grease that comes with the filter, and how noone could. I said I called K&N and the techy told me white lithium would work fine. Well, I didn't like the way it went on (too runny), and sure enough, with my increased boost (30lbs) I found small traces of the white grease in my hose between the box and turbo. Anyway, to make an already too long story short, I found the grease, NAPA part#765-1351. It's the same silicone based grease you're supposed to use to lube your caliper pins on your front brakes(bet you can tell what I got to do this last weekend).

Larry, Dan--Thanks for the good info as I was stumped. I would go with the psycotty air thing, I like the design etc, but am concerned about the noise produced, (wife would have a tizzy). Have any first hand knowledge of the noise level??

I moved the K&N filter from my '99 Dodge 3500 to the 2001 Dodge and it fit just fine with no problems so far.

I can't give you any noise info. I did mine at the same time as an exhaust change and it is LOUD especially when towing. Scott1 could help with the psychotty though.

Only reason I haven't gone to it is I kinda like the little cheesey plunger that tells when the filter needs cleaning. By the way, don't forget with the K&N, don't let it pull past 15" #ad
