Is there anyone using the K&N oil filter on their Cummins. I don't recall it being on the "Approved" list but was just currious as to the number of people using or used and quit using it and if you quit, why?

I have used them in the past, gotta love the little nut on the bottom of the filter.

I have a Fleetguard 3894 on now.

Also the new 2003 cummins filters have the bottoms shaped so you can use a oil filter socket type wrench. These filter I believe also fit 94' to present 5. 9's.

I've been using them since day one. I order mine from Diesel Injection Service in Lubbock, Texas www.dieselpage.com . There was an article in a past TDR issue rating oil filters. The K&N Gold filter was just under the Fleetguard filter and tied with the Mobil 1 filter in efficiency. I feel comfortable using them, and the 1" nut is a bonus. -Glen

I asked this in another thread but got no response. Is Penske filters any good?

Currently using Fleetguard, but can get Penskes pretty cheap.
