I know that this has probably come up before, but I can't find a direct comparison in the threads. Which one are you guy running, but mostly, which one flows more/cooler air? I plan on changing mine REALLY soon.

Thanks

The Psychotty uses the RE-0880 INSIDE it. All the Psychotty is, is a plastic cover that fits over the RE-0880 filter and then draws air through the windshield cowling. You can use the filter without the Psychotty, but you will be drawing hot air from the engine compartment. There are heat shields available, but you will never get there air cool enough without a Psychotty.

EMD , you need to revise that , the psycotty is not the only way to get cold outside air , its at the moment the only unit of its kind . the air bulldog hood draws air from outside the engine compartment and uses a special airbox that connects to the upper part of the stock airbox and has a tube that surrounds the intercooler to help cool air even further . the air bulldog doesn't use the RE-0880 .

i have the RE-0880 , no psycotty , its to loud for me , the filter alone in the engine compartment is loud enough , i'm going to fabricate a box for it and plumb it to an outside air source

Sorry about the confusion Mopar Muscle. True, the air bulldog hood is another alternative, but for the Bulldog hood plus painting it to match your truck, you are talking about a major expense. A complete Psychotty is about $150. 00. So they are not really in the same ballpark as far as options go for increasing airflow. How much are the Bulldog hoods going for?

to much , i 'm not really sure , but as you stated its not as cheap as the psycotty . i spent about 20 miles in a psycotty equipped truck beore i had to stop and pull it out of the cowl , it was just to much , and then it sucked itself against the end of the filter and made the engine stumble , it need a hard bracket to keep the end of it open .

I use the K&N re-0880 filter and red prefilter. Bought them from summit raceing for around $70. 00 total. The turbo spools up much faster then with the stock air box.

I have a RE0880 under the hood and it seems to work fine. It lowered my EGT about 50 degrees. I run it under the hood because I want the warm air to be drawn in for the winter when it is freakin cold here is Alaska. Take a look
