I am beginnig to worry that I missed something.

There is lots of discussion of the K&N 0880 filter for our trucks, but I see no discussion of the "K&N Extreme" filter. The one I chose is, I think, identical to the 0880 except that the end which is solid on the 0880 is on mine filter material also. I believe my #is RX 4070 (not certain, as I can not find the paper work on it right now)

Is there some reason the extreme version of the 0880 is not discussed and apparently not used??

And , Oh yea, I too am thinking about the MoParGuy filer---won't anyone here leave well enough alone? ;-)

The filter you have is great, its just so new, alot of us have not seen or dont have it yet. Soon it will enter the threads and go head to head in fights with Amsoil and Paper filters. I am ordering one soon

IMO, you did the right thing, and EMD is right..... it's a relatively new K&N offering, and while there may be awarness of it, most who already have the RE-0880 aren't anxious to turn around and buy another filter just to pick up the filter media at the end... ... UNTIL, for me anyway, someone can post some hard facts that the RX will pull enough more air... . read horsepower, to justify changing.

I'm usually a sucker for every new whistle and bell that comes out. Almost went for the ARE, and now Holly is trying for bragging rights. At this point in time I'm in my "level-headed" mode. I like the 25-0880 pre-filter, and so I'd just be putting it over the ARE, Holly, or whoever, anyway, so what's the point?
