St.Louis dyno day Nov 7

Ok, i have talked to the shelby, mo promoter (via steve webster (owner of St. Jo Diesel) and he has added a stand alone diesel class, to be entered early in the day. I explained to him that we had a pull we were obligated to that evening and that we needed to pull before 5pm in order to make the harrisonville pull. For those of you interested and can't seem to find it on the map, go to Mapquest.com and search for Shelby, mo linn county. The town itself is approx 5 miles east of Purdin Mo (hiway 5 north of Hiway 36. The pull to my understanding is outside of town a little ways. I will have exact directions in a day or two. And will post them here.

here is the food plan,

i'm going to buy chicken, hamburger, and hot dogs. I'm going to leave it up to you other guys that are attending to bring sides, plates, ect. please start posting what you wish to bring. we are going to try to do it like this to see what happens. Also we will be cooking on the only turbocharged smoker/grille I have ever seen

Adam

I'm good for some pop, I will bring Pepsi, Coke, Diet Coke, and Dr. Pepper. And that will pretty much tap me out. Someone else will have to bring the cooler cause I don't have one anymore.

Ok for those of you interested in pulling and want to pull your truck.

First of all you don't have to tear your truck up to do so. Just hook up and put the T-Case in low side and go easy, it's just for fun. Not to mention the more number of trucks that make a hook the better chances we will have at bringing the interest up in this area (Midwest) for diesel truck pulling (we need all the help we can get, in order for more promoters to let us pull and or add and official class in some of these associations). So just come hook and have fun, you don't have to be the biggest truck in 500 miles, just come and have some fun.

Second, these are the official things that are happening. If you want to hook in Shelby, MO you MUST be there before 1:30 PM this Sat. the 25th in order to sign up. We have made the diesel truck class the 3rd class to pull, and it is a one hook situation. (I will post directions at the bottome of this post).

After we pull we have quite a bit of time before we have to be in Harrisonville to make our second hook (God willing my truck holds up... LOL) and we figure we will hook somewhere between 10P an 12A that evening. And ofcoarse come bright and early Sun. am we have the Dyno Day, provided non of us hurt our trucks the previous day.

So I encourage all interested to come and pull, or if nothing else come on out and support everyone that is pulling. I know that atleast some of the Show-Me-Smokers will be attending and pulling in both, so if nothing else come watch a good show.

Now for directions. No matter where your coming from this is the most general way I can get you to Shelby Mo.

Go to Brookfield, Mo on Highway 36. From there you need to find Highway ' M ' and go North for approx. 11 miles. At that point the road will come to a ' T ' and you will be at Highway ' C ', you need to go East for approx. 2 miles. There you will find Highway ' V ' and you need to go north follow that for 1 mile and it will be on your left (west).

*Side note: When you are on Highway ' C ' you will see a sign for ' V ' Southbound approx. 1 1/2 miles in. You need to ignore that and continue to ' V ' Northbound.

From Shelby to Harrisonville (Garden City technically): This trip is approx. 3 1/2 hours and 177 miles (but what the heck that's why we drive diesels isn't it... LOL)

You will need to reverse your directions above and head back to Brookfield and from there get on Highway 36 West to I-35 Southbound. Follow to I-435 Southbound/Eastbound (towards St. Louis) to Highway 71 towards Grandview and go Southbound yet again. Follow to Highway 7 (just south of Harrisonville) and go South once more towards Clinton, Mo. and you will come to Garden City in approx. 10 min (give or take a few min). As far as where the pull is exactly I will have to defer to either Floor It or one of the Show-Me guys.

So come on out and have fun, if you can't make both try to make one of them. See ya at the pulls.

I got ICE and Mt. Dew. Maybe a cooler or 2.

OSR,

I'd love to come pull for fun, but with my gutbag transmission, I'm afraid I'd never see the dyno the next day. MAYBE after I get an NV4500 next year..... but I don't think the old s$#@ box would probably keep up. BTW count me in for some tater salad or something along those lines. How many people are they planning on at the dyno?

AJ

I'm going to try to make it down on sunday if I can get off work. I might try to make it to the pulls at harisonville also. The cook out you are talking about is it going to be during the dyno event or at the camp out saterday night? I drive by the Rv park you guys are talking about using every day on my way to work. If any one will be there around 4 or 5 saterday let me know what to look for and I'll stop by on my way home from work.

AJ, like I said, you don't have to pull, just come support and hang out for the fun of it.

The cookout is for the dyno day on Sunday.

If anyone has any questions on how to get to either one of the pulls or the dyno event itself, you can reach me at 816-564-3630 or Direct Connect me on Nextel at 140*1027*390

OSR

Sorry, I'm replacing a clutch on a buddy's 96 on Saturday, I'm kind of counting on that being an all day deal. But I'll probably be wishing I was at the pulls!!!!

AJ

Any idea on the numbers coming to the area this weekend? Me and my brother are trying to squeeze it in to come and where wondering how many are thinking of pulling. Sounds like fun.

The highway that you need to take from 71 South is 7 Highway east to Clinton. From there it is about 7 or 8 miles. There will be signs along the highway telling you where to go. To get to the pull it will be a left hand turn going across the highway. This will put you going north. If my memory serves me right there are some antique malls and a place called Kurzwells Country Meats and Neco seed were the left hand turn is. Watch the homemade signs though because they come up quick, wouldn't want anyone to run up your rear before you get to the pull.

Hopefully I will get to meet a few of you there before the dyno on Sunday. Wish I had my truck fixed so I could pull with you all, but maybe another time.

I was just thinking of the food aspect of this outing, and was wondering if deer meat would be ok for the menu (if more meat is even needed). I have a bunch of deer burger mixed with pork tallow (FAT), and a few spices, good stuff for burgers if Big Yellow Iron doesn't want to pony up for all the meat. Just a thought, let me know if I should throw some in.

AJ

... picked up plates; eating utensils; napkins; for about 150 people.

Anyone get condiments yet? Ketchup; mustard? I'll bring a bottle of each.

Someone needs to pony up for hotdog and hamburger buns. I don't want to transport that from Omaha; it'll get smashed.

I just found out I can definatly take off work sunday Oo. so I'm going to try and make it down to the harisonvile pull after work on saterday (to watch any way). I'll bring some side items for the meal on sunday. Do we need any tables? I can bring a couple If we need them.

Well we may have averted near catastrophe (if everything goes well tommorow night... LOL). Tues. am on the way to work I decided to light things up a little, and got the turbo up against the wastegate and literally snapped the exhaust wheel off the shaft... WOOOHOOO... so needless to say I was really rather P. O. ed about it considering how many hours I had in R&D in that turbo. Well as of tonight I now have a new one built and will install a 'prototype' of it tommorow night in the hopes that the 'cobbled' together version of it will run well enough and long enough to get me through the weekends events. If it runs it will defenitly get me in the ballpark of what it will run like when I get the 'proper' peices for it next week sometime. So cross your fingers that it holds together for a total of 3 days... LOL

I know the feeling Russell I was out playing around last night and blew one of the intercooler boot clamps off, for the second time since I put these 370s in. Not as major but it's still a hassle since the damn thing wont stay on. Guess it's trying to tell me it doesn't like 30-35 lbs of boost.

Nathan

LOL. . sounds like time for new boots... . LOL... only 35lbs??????????? Wow we must talk... . you need LOTS more than that...

Russell

For the record, mine snapped at 42 lbs only because thats where we set the wastegate, trust me with wastegate closed off, LOTS MORE BOOST
