I live in Kansas, and am visiting my wifes sister in North Carolina.

Pulled our 38' 5th wheel from Kansas through Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and into North and South Carolina and never stopped at a weigh station. I know Kansas and Missouri don't require you to stop, what about the others?

Does Kansas, Missouri, Colorado require RVs to enter weigh stations? :-{}

I know that at the border station on I-25 in Trinidad, CO (going northbound) the sign says "All Commercial Vehicles and TOWED Vehicles must stop" at weigh station. I've never towed through there, but I have seen RV's pull off there. I assume they just wave you through unless something is obviously amiss. It could also be that it's right at the bottom of Raton Pass and they want a mandatory cool down???

As it states - NON Commercial - vehicles need not stop - weigh stations are for the called out commercial vehicles - over x lbs/truck/commercial etc/ livestock etc. .

just out camping - mom and pop - just pass by.

My 2 cents...

Gee, I never stopped at Trinidad when I went through there. No one came after me.

I never stopped there either in 35+ years of RVing. :cool:

In fact, I've never stopped at any weigh station in the lower 48 while towing/hauling my RV.
