Yogi, where ya gonna be on Saturday?

I plan to leave TN sometime Friday early-afternoon ( I did say "plan to" . . but you know how my plans go!).

This time, I'll be pulling the 5th-wheel camper and will probably stop Friday night to visit relatives in Springfield, MO, then head your direction Saturday morning.

PS - I don't want to see ANY snow this trip!

I'll be around home Tim. I've shut down to do some farm work, so give me a call. I ran in snow last thursday night coming across Wy. , Co. had some too, so its not impossible.

I dont see why it wouldn't work on your truck. As long as the ex. housing on your turbo is a 3" outlet, there is plenty of room for the brake to mount to the turbo on the first gen's. And from there all you have to do is tapp a vaccuum line, or just pick up one of those old ford vacuum pumps and use it as a stand alone specifically for the brake. And aside from running the wire into the cab for the controller thats pretty much it

Russell

It is the BD Brake, I can't remember what the PN is for it. But it is only 2 years old, the only problem I have had with it was the actuator got stuck (not the brake (where the vaccum lines and electric wires connect together)) it was a simple fix, I simply sprayed WD 40 in it to soak it, and have had no problems since. Those were the instructions to fix it straight from BD. You can call them and check to make sure that the brake for an HX 35 on a 12v will fit the H1C of a 1st Gen truck. But I don't see why it wouldnt work personally but to be safe I would call them and check. They have always been really good with me on stuff when I call.

The only reason I am considering getting rid of it is because I sold my 3500 and do virtually NO TOWING anymore, so I really have no need for it, and could use the money... LOL. But there is nothing wrong with it I use it daily even when not towing just for fun.

88-98 is listed as the same part # on their site. How much? (Can't really afford it until July) Or are you not supposed to do this type of thing in this forum?

Hope you have a safe trip home Russell, and hope you get my truck done in time for me to see it @ TiM that would be AWSOME!

Now I just gotta find a club cab BEFORE TiM!

Howdy all..... This looks like a great place for my first post. Glad to see lots of fellow Kansans on this site. I am from Wichita and spent 12 years working for Boeing (mostly laid off) Moved to Philly. for a while, got sick of that n found my way back home.

Anyways just wanted to say Hello... ... I am off to throw rocks at the PA. memebers from tdr

Aaron

HEY MY MONEY IS GOOD... . LOL. . (sometimes... . lol. . jk)

The truck drove like a dream all the way home. 75-80 from Clarksville Tn to Salina Ks, and averaged 18 MPG. I will no longer be *****ING about fuel mileage.

Mark, I think I have figured out the t-case issue. I may have my terminology wrong, but after confering with a buddy of mine who had the same thing a few years ago in his 97 (both described it the same way) we beleive the viscosity gear has become worn and 'sliding' around in there slightly. He said he simply took it out and replaced the gear and checked all gear lash as he rebuild the case and has had no problems with it sense. Although after 800 miles I had no occurances of it after i left Nashville. I mean not once did it give me any problems. I think it's because it knows I am coming for it now. . LOL

I am starting to get used the clutch finally... LOL. I had to look like a 16 year old girl just learning how to drive the first day... LOL.

Now different subject. How on god's green earth did you hammer that thing with that turbo on there?... LOL. . Did you know that at 120 mph the egt guage will almost go BACK to 0 after passing 1600. I should have paid a little more attention to it... LOL. If we didn't have a tornado warning in Saline county at this moment I would be out addressing said issue, but when you live in central KS you tend to head those warnings becuase tornados do tend to happen out here... . LOL... . hmmmmmmmmmmm laying under truck where can't see sky then zipppppppp truck 200 ft in air coming back down on top of me... there's a wonderful idea... LOL

Russell

Russell your scared of alil ol' tornado? Just start talking about your truck and all that hot air well blow the tornado away from ya.

Nathan

OSR, you have never looked like any 16 yr. old girl that I've ever seen, they don't make them that UGLY!!! "BUTT" you damn sure drive like one! And that ain't never going to change!! And Nathan, your right about the hot air! And it comes from both ends!! The people in Tn. don't know how lucky they are that he left there so soon! I didn't know you ever had any ideas, "BUTT" if you did, they would damn sure be BAD!!

Welcome back home OSR! Your wife and I wished you would have stayed a little longer tho. :p  ;) :D

I can't believe I said all that about good ole OSR!!
