Robin,

I have been over there in my 427 '68 4 spd Camaro before and it would have qualified for some kind of citation. The Cummins has rolled quietly in and out of town, so far. I took the Camaro around the state and took photos of all 105 County Courthouses. It was fun and I only got stopped once! In Larned, I was speeding, but he wanted to tell me about my tail light being out. The Kansas Highway Patrol stopped me out by Dodge City, but I was on the side of the road and he wanted to know if I was having mechanical problems. Not that I did not deserve to get stopped many times. I parked it and plan to do the same with the new Dodge. The Cummins gets a little better mileage!

You and I woulda had some battles years ago. I had a 68 1/2 Mustang fast back with one of the old dual quad 427's/ with a 4sp. I miss that car!! The last time I saw it, ws about 7-8 years ago at a shop in Hays. A guy had put a 428 engine and auto in it and painted it black. But it still looked good to me!!

Nothing today compares to a 60's muscle car!!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

As for the courthouse, it is still in use. They decided to leave the courtrooms in place and added some smaller ones on the first floor. I believe the county register is still in there also.

One another note, I should be taking delivery of my new truck sometime late October early November. I would like to install guages, but have never done this before. Any usefull tips? I think I'll be ordering these from Geno's next week, unless someone knows of a better place to get them?

Frederick

I got mine from Diesel Injection Service. Seems like at the time they had a better selection for what I wanted and great customer service. Below is their web. Genos is great too, they have great customer service as well!! I have bought stuff from both.

If you don't want to do the gauges yourself, contact John at FloorIt Diesel Performance, Lawrence Kansas. 785-842-8545. You might ask him, he might get you some deals on gauges. I know he just put some on his dad's 03.

http://www.ourks.com/02acchevelle.html You can visit my black 69 427 El Camino and my gold 65 aluminum head 468 Chevelle at that link. I have since sold them both to buy my new Dodge. The El Camino went to Atlanta, the engine out of my Chevelle went to a friend who promptly dropped it in a 69 Camaro. The Chevelle went to another friend who is painting it black and putting a 396 in it. Yes, that is me roasting the tires at Ark City. 6500 rpm for 30 seconds in third gear equals two ruined tires. It was a losing effort, a half ton Dodge with a 440 won. I think it was the smoke rolling out from between the cab and under the bed that won it for him. I will guarantee that nobody turned them any harder than the old Malibu. When I drove around the bank, I could not see the strip mall across the street. I think my new Dodge may have enough torque to do it, but who wants to buy a pair of 17s? Glen

GG-

You gotta get to Lawrence and see FloorIts 68 Camaro's. They are Prostock type cars and I think one has a 560+ cubic inch engine.

Oh Yeah, That would really be good for a guy with a horsepower addiction to go to the candy store! :D :D I'll get there one of these days. mailto:tyrfryr@cox.net shoot me his address. When my truck gets out of the free factory repair zone, I am sure I'll play with it. Almost 20K now and still going strong! Glen

Frederick,

I would contact John (Floor It) and speak with him about guages. Then we he gets them in .....

I SMELL BOMB PARTY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

John, you might have to get me my new injectors, Oo. ;)

anyway Frederick, John will take good care of you and make sure you get exactly what you want and need. The question is when will he be ready for us to roll up to the shop and throw down?... >LOL

This may sound weak, but KC is to far. It's between 7and 8 hours from here. Us westerners generally heas towards the rockies.

Leaving Saturday for Denver. Am going to the Bronco/Chief game. lol

Are there any Cheif fans in Kansas?

Denver didn't look to much like a fluke. Could there be a connection between the Cheifs and Royals?

and on a side not how bout them sooners? GO WILDCATS!

Well I will say this if Greg Robinson isnt fired after that deplorable display of coaching last night it will be a travisty. Yes it is up to the players but the players don't call the schemes, and if the wrong scheme is called then the players doing their jobs just arent there to stop the play. And all i saw last night was a defense that was playing pass when it was a run and playing run when it was a pass... HORRIBLE SHOWING BY THE CHEIFS.

But on a side note GO WILDCATS THAT WAS AWESOME.
