I sure do remember Chief Woody, he is the one that hired me and the bulldog, Patty, was a PD mascot and pain in the ass at the same time. She could chew up anything, somebody got the bright idea to cut off a section of fire hose and sew the ends shut. That was her chew and pull toy. We used to slap her with the hose and tease her by keeping it away from her. She would get TPO (Totally ****** Off) shortly. She would be mad at the hose, not the officer. Once she made TPO, you could let her grab the hose then pick her up with the hose. We would then slam a door on the hose above the door latch and leave her hanging, growling and squirming. Usually she could hang there for about 20 minutes. If you were a player, she would bring the hose to you and throw it at you. If you ignored her when she expected to play, she would lick your trousers. The stain was white and almost impossible to get off. Patty, like Woody, was tougher than hell, so surely they will not go there. He taught her play all sorts of games, they wore identical glasses and smoked together, identical pipes. It was a fun time, gone from the Salina PD forever now, I am sure. I never thought of myself as an eastern Kansas boy before. Glen

Sorry Glen I meant a big welcome to Mr KS Cummings who is a new TDR man from Kansas. . I just got confused a bit... As for patty the Bulldog I met her in John's office one day when i had been there to calibrate the Radar in the Building. I had a lot of meetings with Patty and John over a few years and had a lot of respect for woody... if we ever meet maybe we can talk a little about this subject... Bill

Bill, Woody is very much alive. If you get to Salina, you should stop to see him. He is the same old gruff boy with a heart of gold that he always was. Patty got caught under a metal garage door and suffered the squished treatment. Woody would appreciate the company. Glen

I always kinda thought so myself GOAT..... I would like to drop in on Woody but i don't have a clue where to find Him, any idea's, You Know what, Some fine warm day it would be nice if we could ALL get together in SALINA ( Central location for the State) and have a Quiet Visit. hahaha. . A meeting in Salina would be super for me. I actually have weekends off this month. I traded next Saturday night away, the 18th. We just had a Geo-caching get together at Coyote Canyon last Saturday night, I feel like a regular social type person now.

31st is the only open saturday I have. the night of the 25th is open also.

Larry is still around, the onery cuss left me a message on my cell phone, bragging about breaking 100K, 103 I think he said. Next thing you know we will see a photo of hiim next to that '03 with a big grin in his face in the TDR.

Well as long as someone has heard from him. I normally got a phone call and an email once a week from him, and havent for a about 2 weeks now so I was just checking on him. I think I'll call the old fart (incase he is monitoring this... )just the same... LOL
