Towing with 315's ??

What Civil War sights to see

a while back i ordered a 27+5 foot flat bed GN with pop up, side turn singals, 16 inch centers, tripple axle's at 7k each with brakes, no pinstripes, rear receiver, and a spare. it came out to 5800 delivered to oregon from texas.

i have yet to see it obviously, but my folks say it is very nice quality and rides very nicely unloaded.

what ya think?

Looks great... what do you plan on towing around? Is it for work? For play? Both? :D

i have a 74 chevy blazer i am building up for rock crawling and mud. i plan on putting a small conex box up front to store all of my tools and a generator on the GN arch so i can run the plasma cutter, air and welder. this way i can finish up my blazer's roll cage with the trailer in storage at camp pendleton.

i also bought the trailer big enough to haul my bud's 74 burban along with my blazer. i am eager to get back to the states and start tinkering around with it. i plan on having some fiberglass fenders made up to convert the short box to a dually. air bags are on the way along with an exhaust brake. should tow very nice.

thanks for the compliments.

oh, and once im out of the corps i will be using it for work. but i might just buy a second trailer. a low deck for towing as a service.

That trailer + 2 race trucks will do quite well. One red and one black with race strips. I can just see it now. Man. see ya'll a at the races.

. . Preston. .

tell ya what, you give me the trucks and ill show ya what it looks like... . ;)

im still debating on tire size for my blazer. 42 is the smallest i will go. 49 is in the window, but i am thinking 44 will end up being what i get.

also a nices Porka 951 would look great in front of the blazer... now i have to get my buddy to sell me his... .

*cough*CORN PRO*cough* :-laf just kidding! thats a nice set up!! what kind of hitch do you have in the bed?

Ian

ehhh... corn pro? ya lost me. .

B& W turnover. have yet to see any of my truck. well, the truck anyway. but since i have been over here it has been arma coated, Brake smart just got installed, B& W hitch, the trailer and i have diprocal boost, egt, and fuel pressure to install on the a-pillar when i get back. also have to put the tool box in the bed and mount the CB and antenna. Oo.

airbags might be on the way as well, but i would like to do that after i make it a dually. Oo. yeserday the truck turned over 6050 miles. i put 5650 of that on it had 300 from the dealer, and the parents put the rest on in the past 4. 5 months. i only had it 2 months before i left. AND I MISS IT!! :(

That is a real nice looking trailer. I think Corn Pro is a trailer brand up in the Ohio area. Where is the Kaufman trailer built? Maybe it's in my neck of the woods down here. We have a lot of Big Tex trailers around here since they're built in Midland Odessa. Why did you go to a triple axle instead of dual axles and dual tires?? And what is the GVW rating of your new trailer?

they are built in texas somewhere. i bought a tripple axle vice a tandem dual because of 2 less tires to worry about for cost and drag reasons. with a more stable and longer wheelbase, easier to load this way as well. weight isnt to particular in most cases as to where i can put a single vehicle. also they track better in all conditions.

the trailer is rated for 18k payload. it weighs in around 5k or so. like i said, i have yet to see it in person. once i get home i will take a few more pictures loaded and with the pop up down and ramps down. i needed to be able to fit a conex box and a blazer, or a blazer and a suburban, or a blazer and a pop up camper... . this will do it.

tripple axles tend to ride better as well. the trailers 16 inch centers lend to its weight as well. its kind of a pig, but not a big deal to me. im going to put aluminum front on it to break the wind a bit for when i put the conex box on.

happy holidays to you all as well.
