KC 801 Driving Lights

While I'm waiting for my Denver Off Road bumper to arrive, I've been looking into what kind of lights to mount on the bumper to improve my lighting.



I've been seriously considering the KC801's. They are 8", 130 watt lights.



From what I've heard they really throw some serious light down the road and are of high quality construction. With all of the deer we have around here and the lousy headlights these truck have, I'm really looking to get a set of all around heavy duty lights that can be mounted on the DOR bumper as additional headlights when traffic and conditions allow.



Any thoughts or suggestions?????????

For the money I don't see them as worth it. I've had other KC lights and they have never held up. Bulbs burn out often, housings rust, mounts vibrate around. Not saying the new ones will do the same.



I have since moved to Lightforce. For the same price you can buy the 6. 6" round ones. They put out over twice the light at 100 watts and have many more options that make them more versatile.

I will second the Lightforce lights. I have a set of 170's on my DOR bumper and they are just plain awesome. They have taken some direct rock hits and barely even marred the lense cover (the cover is clear so no need to get out and remove them to use them and as mentioned previously you have options). At one time on their website they had pictures of the lense after being shot with a 22 and a shot gun still in one piece. The mount system is grade A as well makes aiming them very easy. I have had mine for about 3 years/100k and have not had to readjust them yet. If you want to go hog wild on them check out their 240's. A bit big for my taste but I know someone who has them on their land rover and they turn night into day. The 170's fit fine on the DOR light tabs dont know if the 240's will fit on the tabs or not.

Light Force Driving Lights

OK,,,,... I'm convinced!!! I'm going to go with the Ligh Force.



Is their web site the only source to order from??? Just asking for price comparison purposes.

The Lightforce sight is actually in Australia where they are made. No prices on there. But they do list distributors. Napa should carry them as well as any good truck store or a vehicle customizing store (for lack of better words).



My F-150 had 4 of the 240's and 4 of the 170's at one time. Soon the Ram will have all of them. Ever been blinded by the reflection from a road sign?

It has been a couple years but I got mine from www.central4wd.com . I just checked and the prices have gone up. I purchased my 170's from them for 186. 00 now they are 200+ with free shipping but still not a bad price for the light compared to others like piaa's.



Cummins Pilot must get dark up there, with that amount of light it must be like driving on the surface of the sun I know what you mean about the road signs. There is one on the dirt road to our property that is angled just right and I do get a bit of welder flash if they are on when I drive by it with just the 170's on couldnt imagine it with what you have got going. .

Well right now its dark 18 hours a day. I spend a lot of time on the highways between towns. We have moose that I'd like to see well before hand. Ands its just nice to be able to see farther than you can stop at 70mph. I know this isn't the safest thing to do but if someone hits me with their high beams more than once when I'm running my low beams they think the sun just rose.
