KC/St. Joe Dyno day

I'll be easy to miss today -- Jusy too long of a drive to make it there and back in one day and make the event I have this evening.



I bet it's an awesome event - But no worries, Johns dyno hasn't seen the last of big red... .



PS - Mostly the hoods I look under are the 12v'ers, cause I just like to dream

Long story short - Didnt buy it because I dont think I could have gotten bac kto road worthyness... Would have made a GREAT puller though.

Well I'll have to say now that I am back home that the event was a great success in my eyes. SJD put on a heck of a show for us, from coffee (no donuts for me) in the Morning to Burgers and Dogs at lunch. Everyone was running around like little busy bees and showed us everything from the tricked out Duramax to the tractor doing water break dyno runs. Very nice place and nice people to bout (Think Steve..... the owner and I are buds now)



John (Floor It Diesel) brought his best there and showed us how to run a dyno event... ... . SJD showed us that we could have a nice place to watch everything and have and evac system and heaters to make it liveable.



Dyno results left me at the #2 spot! At 591 hp she broke on the dyno..... done! (Ok for you no believers that was Direct gear, 370's and #2 only and still climbing... ... . what a shame) I was set to lay down some real numbers... . not my time! Want to say thanks for the folks that stepped in to give me a hand and to Matt (Powerstroke guy) that hauled my truck back home for me, then drove back to KC... ... (it's 410 miles from the Event to my house) Had another guy that did not know me at all said..... don't worry well get your truck and you home.



Now back to real stuff... ... have a date with John in the future to spend some time with him and the dyno, she will live again... ... shame, I don't know if it's ever run better.

See Jim I promised I would say anything... lol. . But we were sure glad you came up even with the break the truck was still impressive. For those not aware, Jim's truck breaking was only 30 hp behind the TOP HP for the day which was won with a 613. 4 by Sean Neighbaum's 02 24v. And everyone should have seen Jim later in the evening when Steve (owner of SJD) and Jim finally got to speak "shop" and steve began showing off the shop and some of the "TOYS" kept around for the tractor/truck pulling operations of St. Joseph Diesel, it was like watching a kid in a candy store... lol



As far as the turn out for the event, unfortunately we didnt keep a tab on people through the doors, but apparently they kept track of how many hotdogs/hamburgers they cooked and how many were left. Apparently they cooked approx. 340 hamburgers and only had 4 left and about the same with hogdogs. We had about 26 trucks run the dyno with some fair numbers, if a certain truck from OK would have held together... but i wont say anything. . lol. But it was a great turnout would have loved to have even more but nonetheless it was a GREAT event. SJD is now thinking about doing an event this spring so I will keep everyone posted, and this time I will make sure that the word is put out in plenty of time for everyone to make plans.



On a slight side note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank SJD, Steve & Rose Webster, Tony & Sheila Sinclair, and the entire staff of SJD for putting on a great event, I was proud to be allowed to be apart of the day and happy to help. And to Floor It, John you and JT put on a great dyno for everyone, thank you very much.

FWIW, it's Sean Niebaum... congrats to my little brother for finally cracking 600.

I wanted to thank everyone who helped out at SJD. It was quite a party. They sure have a nice shop. I had a blast and finally put my stock truck on the rollers. Due to the good air it put down 306 hp through a dirty filter. Not to shabby for a 325/600 truck. Glad Jim got home ok. After watching an 06 smarty truck put down 447 hp, I know whats going on my xmas list!

FYI... ... all of the numbers were uncorrected. I doubt there was much if any correction factor. The Baro was 30. 3 and 40% humidity with a temp in the 40's and elevation there is 1K or so... ... . good stuff.

Sorry I missed the event I am still nursing Strep throat and wish I could have made it, I thought about sending the truck up there with Ryan but could not get a hold of him.
