My son has a 97 and he did the KDP fix. The pin had started working its way out. I have a 91 and one of the bolts behind the camshaft gear, (there are 5) came out took 2 teeth out of the cam gear, spun the crankshaft gear on the crank and broke the camshaft right behind the front bearing. Acording to Cummins it also bent the pushrods, I havn't checked them yet. I talked to Cummins and he said he sees quite a few that this has happened to. So it might be worth your while to take the timing gear cover off and check those 5 bolts (they have a 10mm head). If one of them comes out it will cause major damage.
