Hi guys I am running my 1995 with 231K miles and I REALLY need to inspect the KDP to see if a previous owner has fixed it. What is a good easy way to inspect it? Thanks :)

You have to at least remove the fan mount. If there is a screw in the side of the gear case then it has been blocked by using the jig. If there is not screw there then you have to take the gear case cover off. Then if there is no tab in place you need to install one. E-mail me at -- email address removed -- for instructions on how to do this stuff.

You might as well take off the cover. The bolts don't have sealer on them so can fall out onto the gears, and that can be worse than the dowel pin because they have flanged heads that can catch in the teeth. Remove, clean, loctite the 4 you can get, and bend a 10mm wrench to tighten the fifth that is under the cam gear and not visible through the "windows" in the gear. Check the cam retainer and oil pump bolts.
