I received the KDP Jig on Thursday afternoon.

Started working on the truck around 1000 on Saturday morning. By 1500, the garage was cleaned up and all the tools were put away.

I ran into no snags, other than fighting with that serpentine belt at the very end. It took me a good 15 mins to get that belt into place. I've done it once before, but it never took this long.

Anyway, glad to report that my dowel pin appeared not to have moved. The drill bored into the casing with no resistance other than what can be expected from aluminum. Excellent instructions and the kit was worked as designed.

The jig's new appointment is already set up tomorrow.

No more worries dreading the day when my pin would fall out. Sure gave me a sigh of relief.

My appreciation goes out to the inventor and distributors of the jig. Thank you.

Wish I could get mine taken care of. I've bugged Tom(Briar Hopper) so much he said he bumped me up ahead of Daniel(CMNS_PWR) for when he gets the jig, and Daniel works there!!:-laf

If I had any idea of how to do it I would do it myself, but I'm clueless on this one.

From the day I placed my name on the list to the day the jig set arrived took only 4 weeks. I received the jig from CA. It is scheduled to head up to Lake Tahoe tomorrow and then probably go north to Reno. I don't know who else is scheduled for repairs around here. If anyone needs the jig in Nevada, please PM me before the end of next week.

I just turned over 135,500 miles on my rig and I can honestly say, I have had no problems with my truck after all these years (/sound of closed fist knocking on wood).

I know that the KDP Jig fix does not make the world a better place; it does, however, put the satisfaction of knowing that this pin will never strike back.

One of these days I'll update my signature file to reflect the KDP fix.

Did anyone ever conduct survey of which models of trucks, year, their mileage, BOMBed or stock, and their usage, to determine which type of trucks are more prone to 'pin dislocation'? I'd like to know what the statistics are.

Congratulations on getting it fixed.

It seems the jigs move much faster in the west. We never hear much about the jigs in the east or Midwest moving. Anyone have any idea where they are now?

That's because they don't. Communicating with jig caretakers in the east it seems that folks there keep the jig for a month or more, out west it's a week or less. You tell me what the reason is, I have no idea.

Could we make the list of jig needers public on here? That way it would give some accountability to what they are doing with them.

How about a sticky post just dedicated to who has the jigs and where they are to go? We need to at least find out where they are.

I think if they can't do the job within one week, they should pass the jig on to someone else. Then they can always get it back when they have time to do it in a timely manner.

Someone's truck is going to blow up because they've been waiting on a jig.

What I have suggested to some of the people using the jig I'm taking care of is to do the fix on the weekend and ship it out monday. This give it five days in shipping to get to the next fellow for the weekend. This is considering that most people have the weekends off.

Blake, with at least 12 jigs circulating a list here would turn into a mess. That's the reason the How to get a jig thread in 12 valve was locked down for posts. I've been helping Cooker catch up with the NW jig, you should be getting one soon.

Ok, I'll be patient.

Just trying to figure out how to account for their whereabouts and put some urgency in their users.

I live out west and put my name on the Ca list. I got the jig 2 weeks later and did the fix that afternoon and sent it off fed ex overnight the next morning to Brandon. He had it the very next day. All this happened just before Christmas. I had it less then 24 hours. Last that I heard, it was still moving fast and being used hard.

Thanks John for your expertise and help making the jigs and to Brandon as the Ca jig caretaker.

Got the jig from NevadaBadBoy last night, did mine today! Done, it's over, the KDP can't mess with my engine! As soon as Brandon tells me where to send it, it'll be on the way!

I was lucky in the fact that when I got on the list it was 20 miles away a couple of days later!

Those of you that haven't done it, do it! Peace of mind.

My thanks to all of the people at TDR who provided this jig and tools.

kdp not fixed

I got a 94, 3500 w/116K and am SCARED to Death. Can anybody point me to directions on how to do this KDP fix, and what parts are needed. Would like to have all I need when I get the JIG here in Mid TENN so I can fix fast and move to the next person.

Never worried about my truck till I joined TDR. Reports of Lift Pumps out, Turbo explosions, 5th gear going out, KDP's falling out, Injector pumps blown, etc.

Heck I try to not even start my truck now!!!! Hauled my garbage to the dump (only 1/4 mi. away) Sat. in my Civic. Wish I knew how to add a smilie. That dropped jaw would be perfect.

(Not affliated w/Tom, just love his shop[hate the drive])
