Does anybody know of a spec sheet for the KDP jig. I was thinking of making one up. I've got about 12 trucks in my local area that want the problem fixed but no jig!!!

dwalker151,

If you goto www.nwbombers.com and post looking for a 1st gen jig there are 2 people in the NW that have them Bob Beauchaine in Portland area and the person who made both of these jigs who goes by cubby on the nwbombers forums, he is in Idaho somewhere if I remember correctly.

Hope this helps, Bob took care of my pin for me, it makes you feel alot better after it's done.

Harold (Cubby) Bowers in Caldwell Idaho made my Jig - thats the one being copied by Jay Leonard. If Caldwell is near you you might contact him. If you can't get his email address from the NWBombers sight I will try to dig it out.

Bob

A friend of mine has a '92 with 45000 km's (28000 mi's). When does this pin start to become a problem. I guess I'm asking what mileage has been the earliest the problem has reared it's ugly head?

Thanks, Ken

It's ticking time bomb. It may never come out or it could come out tomorrow. For the peace of mind I would get it done ASAP. The fix is free but the damage caused by a failure is not.

Bob

I will be up at Rob Hansons in Enumanclaw Wa - just south of Seattle on 2/23/03. If you want to make the trip down I will be happy to put the KDP to rest. It takes about 1. 5 hours and all it will cost you is the fuel you'll burn on the trip. You can also meet some of the NW Bombers.

Bob :)

for those wantin to build their own jig, harold [cubby] has a jig to make a jig. he can also make ya a jig. -- email address removed -- harold is also the guy to get the 35$ fast idle devices from

fast idle devices

I must have been somewhere else when this was discussed before.

Please tell me what a "fast idle device" is and how it does what it does.

I haven't seen this fellas adaptation but as a rule a fast idle device bumps the idle on the engine up with the flip of a switch. It is handy for periods which require long idling because it keeps the egt's above 300 degrees and prolongs engine life.
