The jig is on the way, special thanxs to "COOKER". IT should be here within a week. I live near peterborough in Ontario. Is there anyone in Ontario familar with the KDP jig procedure. I would be willing to drive anywhere within 800kms, canada only, and would glady compensate with cold beer and $. Thanx Jeff

Jeff, if you can't find someone to help don't fret, it is a very easy job. Read my instructions in the first thread in this forum. The only tool needed that isn't common is an air compressor and you can get by without one no problem. The North West jig is in Edmonton this weekend, guess that's a bit further than 800 km though.

Please tighten the fan when you re-install (see my post "Warning KDP fan loose"). Give it a few wacks with a hammer when you put it back on. The instructions say to just spin it on and the motor will tighten it as it turns. Believe me, it can come off this way and cause you alot of head scratching and cussi'n. For the rest just follow the instructions it is a piece of cake. The jig is a real sweet set up.

good talking to you doodad.

It really is a piece of cake. Take your time, all day if you need it, with the jig, you can not mess it up.

Only change I suggest is on one of the instruction sheets - DO NOT put the air hose in the dip stick tube as there will be no pressure out of the drill hole. All of it goes out the crankcase tube.

I added a quick disconnect to the fitting for the crankcase tube. Shove that into the tube and hose at +- 2# pressure - a nice breezy speed.

Also, instructions forgot this part, but first off, drain/syphon the rad by about 1 gallon, disconect the rad hose at the engine and toss it over to the driver's side.

have fun:cool:

goober, if attaching the air to the dipstick tube didn't work for you it's only because you didn't put enough air to it. On the 30+ jig fixes I've performed you could feel the blast of air out of the drilled hole from two feet away. Air leaking out the blowby is a safety valve to prevent over pressure. If a person elects to attach the compressed air to the blowby tube take care, there have been several reports of folks blowing out seals and gaskets on their engines, 5psi max. No matter which method you use remember you are pressurizing parts of the engine that never see pressure and weren't designed for it.

Ya, that was the problem.

I could have increased th air pressure but did not know what is safe. I did know that 2# s/b about right, but increasing to what was a gamble guess, I guess.

Anyway, I lost the bag of screws.

Anyone know the screws type, etc. and I'll get another box for the kit.

thanks
