Anyone know where can I get a KDP Jig? I want to kill mine before it is too late. Does anyone have part numbers for all the gaskets and seals to install a tab if I can't get a jig?

dont jig your 92. tab it, it is mandatory ya pull each of the case bolts one by one and locktite.

harold has the 'complete' tab kit with fan wrenchs and seal etc and instructions. -- email address removed -- harold also makes the jigs w/ kits but will not sell em for use on the earlier trucks which need the bolts locktited

Ditto pulling the cover. When we did mine all the bolts had backed off somewhat. It's a much better relief to know that all is right inside the gearcase.

Thanks for the info, I sent an email to get the tab kit, I agree I would rather know what is in there for my peace of mind.

I have the jig kit and plan on doing my KDP. Since I live/work out of Crestview, maybe we can get together on doing our rigs. Jig or tab it doesn't matter to me. Any excuse is agood one to turn wrench's and drink a few brews :D

PM me if interested.

edited my spell'n

Fellas, don't be surprised to find you will need to put a little dogleg in the tab on the 92. No big deal, just fits nicer. Tim

the tabs in the kits harold makes are specific to 1st gen or 2nd gen. just tell him what ya need. kit comes with extra tabs for retaining other folks kdp's. so specify what ya think ya may want :)

How responsive is the seller of the tab/jig to email? I emailed yesterday and no response yet? I have a '93 but want the jig... Most tabs don't correctly into the 1st gen case and I'm leery of taking metal off to make it fit. I already have the cover off to tighten the bolts and inspect, etc.

Thanks,

Brian

He emailed me the next day and I sent him a check. He doesn't have a way to take credit cards. The tabs he makes fit perfect with no removing metal. I feel much more secure now that I have it installed and all bolts tightened. My tab was as secure as it was from the factory but the bolts were a little loose. The fan wrenches that are included with the kit are worth the money themselves.

brian,

harold is away in his rv hvn fn. :D he will be gone a few more days but he does have a way to check email every couple days or so and he will get back to ya. if he doesnt pm me and i know how ya can get ahold of him. in fact try 208 459-7849 and see if that will work. let me know one way or the other.

as rlyons stated the 1st gen tab is secure. it does fit perfect.

I'd hate to call the guy if he's on vacation and didn't himself give me his phone number. Anybody have a picture of his 1st gen tab?

Thanks,

Brian

i dont have a pic of the tab but it is a differnt shape than the 2gen tab and also has a dogleg in it.

if ya want, you can give your # to me by pm or call my cell 208 739-2520 [leave message if no answer]and i will get it to harold. i need to call him soon anyway

I've been talking to Harold in email. I sent him a check, but he won't be home until Thursday to send one out - doesn't have any with him.

Thanks,

Brian
