Thanks to all who helped with questions and instructions. The pin hadn't even budged, but at least it was in there! Big relief. Took about 5 hours, included making the tab and all (and if anyone was wondering, we didn't bother removing the fan shroud, coolant / windshield washer fluid bottles, or the upper rad hose).

Thanks again,

Stephan

I discovered 2 weeks ago my KDP took off for vacation, and it took my cover with it.

If you have not already done it, get your KDP checked or fixed!

Tell me about your heater plug BOMB.

I will front off of my truck off soon and this might be a great time to do that as well.

Well, it started one cold night about a month and a half back. I went to plug in my block heater and the cord blew out and burned my hand, not to mention started a fire too close to my truck (good thing these bumpers are metal). So I put on this big black utility plug with rubber grips to help prevent hand slippage and electrical shock. A few days later, someone posted asking if anyone has ever done anything to their plug, and hence the "block heater plug bomb" lives as more of a gag bomb than anything else (still serves a purpose though).
