Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) KDP... oh so close!!

I just bought my truck less than 2 weeks ago. Went after the KDP today (147k miles) and look what I found. It was literally like a loose tooth.

What is the total length of the pin? I'd say about 1/3 to 1/2 of an inch was hanging out. I'm sure glad I tabbed it today and not next weekend!



Anyway, here's how it looks now.

KDP fixit regrets

Still singing my old refrain, "I did't tighten all my case bolts cause didn"t know the number and didn't know they were hiding". Don't ignore the opportunity to do this KDP job 100% right the FIRST TIME with the right instructions. A wandering case bolt according to this forum can undo even more than the wretched dowel pin.
