KDP Party in Sumner County Sat. July 10th

KDP Party is this Saturday the 10th!

We I'm hoping to host a Killer Dowel Pin party this coming

Saturday at my home in Bethpage (in Sumner County) which is 20 minutes from Lebanon.

I have a decent size two car garage/basement and all the hand tools necessary. I spoke with Ram Medic (sorry name escapes me), Steve, Wade, Paul, and Jay at the Ivy Bluff pull.

This is open to anybody who wants to attend. I'm hoping that "Ram Medic" can attend because he recently installed a camshaft himself so he's still quite familiar with front end of a CTD. :-laf

I'm hoping to kick things off at Noon I guess  originally typed 10AM but got to thinking that maybe be too early for people who have a drive.

Everyone is welcome, and I will feed you before you leave. So everybody make plans to attend this Saturday! Oo.

I'll post directions later in the week.

You did mean the 10th, didn't you? We have another tournament this weekend in McMinnville, but if it gets rained out I'd like to be there. Oo.

KDP

At this point I am planning on attending. I still have to convince the wife that you are in dire need of a true shade tree mechanic.

Just how far is Bethpage from Chattanooga anyway?

PLEASE convince her! I believe I'm about 2- 2 & 1/2 hrs from Chattanooga if you bend the speed limit a little! ;)

The wife gave me her blessings so I will be there for sure. Do you want me to bring that tab I have from TST? If so, all you will need is a crank seal and a gear cover gasket. I have plenty of red locktite and gray rtv seal.

Any chance anyone that is coming will have the tools necessary to adjust timing. I would love to advance mine, I just don't have the "special" tools to do it.

Thanks, Lane

Wade has a timing kit that is just collecting dust. :p

I meant to get it from him Saturday and forgot because I want to "check" mine (supposedly @ 16*, done by Jeff Garmon before I go the truck... was told by a friend that Mr. Garmon likes to run high timing :( )

I REALLY wish I had had your phone # today because I was down @ Nash. right by Cummins Cumberland and didn't remember what you said I needed. Now I get to drive all the way back down there in the morning! :{ If you don't mind please bring the tab and the locktite and sealent.

CD Player

I installed mine with no problems. Just make sure you get an installation kit with wiring harness. Easy to do. See ya Saturday.

Lane

Directions.

Ok I believe everybody should be coming up Interstate 40. If not let me know and I will get you proper directions.

Get off at exit #238 the Hwy 231 Exit.

If your coming from I40-East take a right at the 238 Exit

If your coming from I40-West take a left at the 238 Exit.

Stay on Hwy 231. When you reach the town square go 1/2 way around, as if you had just went straight anyways.

Continue on 231 all the way out of Lebanon.

You will go about 16 miles from Lebanon and reach a 4-way stop.

Go straight through the stop sign.

Now start counting roads on the Left.

Turn left on the 3rd road to the left.

Big log house with red tin roof you can't miss it.

In the unlikely event that you do get lost call me AT HOME! for all of you who have my cell phone # it does NOT work at my house. Home phone is 615-841-3795.

So far it only seems like the following will be making it.

Lane

Wade

Jay Sykes

Ken

and Terry.

Let me know cause I'm planning on picking up some meat for us to have burgers. Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.

Edit

I orignally intended to kick things off at 10am, then I considering some people (like Lane/Ram Medic) will have a 2 - 2&1/2 hr drive so I said Noon to make it more resonable. Well anyone who wants to feel free to show up anytime after 10AM. I will be up and probably still straightening somethings around the basement. Surely we'll find something to get into. :-laf

Re: CD Player

No, I've installed plenty. I want a freebie (or nearly free) to put in. I like the OEM, but mine is crap.

More directions. Oversimplified.

Goto Lebanon.

Go North on 231.

Cross HWY 25.

Find Scott Road on left,

First cabin on left.

If you get to 31 you went too far.

KDP Party a success!! Oo.

Thanks to all who attended, and a very special debt of thanks to Lane (Ram Medic) who drove 3. 5 hrs to help me out.

Also thanks to Jason(JHammock) for stopping by for originally stopping by to just "cut some holes" and ended up taking my crosspipe home with him! :-laf

Hope you guys enjoyed! We'll have to get together again some time soon.

Glad everything went O. K. with your truck and I wish I coulda made it. It did rain, but not enough to stop the games... . just enough for mudball.

Pin was about 1/8" out. Just tapped 'er back in and tab'd it. We tried to check my timing, but something just wasn't right

Wade was 2 for 3 today. They got Ken's truck done right after we got my KDP taken care of, and they did Lanes last. Dunno what was up with mine, need details from Wade (I shoulda wrote that stuff down!) then I'll post in the 12V forum and find out what's up.

I kept his timing kit though so I can still get mine done! :p :-laf

Well, I got home at 1:30 a. m. Wow, what a difference you guys made in my truck! Special thanks to Wade for helping with the timing adjustment. I hope you didn't get into too much trouble. Thanks to all for the help and Mark's parents for the food. Now all I need is to find my smoke! Advancing the timing took alot of it away.
