Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) KDP Question.

Is the KDP just used for assembly purposes? If you were to tear down and take a look and found the KDP sticking out, can you just remove it? This seems like the best solution.

If you tear it down and see it, the best thing to do is TAB it. Just an oversized washer under the adjacent bolt will keep it from coming out. The KDP jig kit is easier and faster.

The pin should say in to keep the case aligned. Unless it's just about to fall out you probably couldn't pull it out anyway, it's hard steel and difficult to get a grip on.
