Hi, I have a 700 total mile road trip coming up and I don't have time to do the KDP fix. Is there a way to do a temporary fix/band-aid on it? When I get home I will repair it properly.

96 auto, 12v Cummins, 220,000 miles. I will be towing a ~10,000lb enclosed gooseneck to Supras Invade Las Vegas.

Thanx, I know this is not the best way, but I want to at least address the KDP before I take off on this road trip!

JGranberry,

Are you just wanting to prevent the pin from falling out, or has it already caused problems?

I don't know of any quick fixes--when I tabbed mine, it took a couple of days (not solid working on it)--if you have all the parts and don't do other things like flushing and washing the radiator, it shouldn't take more than a day of steady work.

Sorry this doesn't help much,

It took 4 hours. Yank radiator and fan = 30 minutes. Yank crank damper and front cover, another 30 minutes. Then the rest is up to you and how much you want to clean and prep. I loctited all the case bolts and tabbed it.

There is nothing you can do exept dig in. I put it off and put it off and after I did it, I asked myself why I ever waited so long.

Im sure you will be fine. Just get to it when you get back.
