The dowel pin was out 1/4" on my 96. Thanks to Joe George I finished the job in about three hours. I do recommend stuffing a blanket down in front of the radiator and folding in over the cowling a couple time. It kept nuts, bolts and tools from falling into the "black hole". It also may it real comfy for leaning on the elbows.
Also, just below the KDP is another hole for parts to fall into-stuff it with a shop towel! Again anyone in the Nevada City, CA area with trepidations are welcome to my experience. It's really easy.
