kdp fix

:-laf :D the problem with the KDP is they reamed the hole all the way thru in manufacturing instead of leaving a shoulder in the drilled hole:rolleyes: ,which is usually drilled a few thousanths of an inch smaller. the KDP drill jig fix is a good permanent fix because the pin is trapped by the bolt that you install. it is very well thought out!:D :D

Hello fellow Michigander! Its a permanent fix A screw is inserted into block the pin from coming out.

This would all be a moot point if Cummins had designed the gear housing with a blind indent. One would seat the pin in the block and the gear housing would fit over the pin for alignment, but no hole would exist to ever allow it into the gear side of the housing.

Never the less a jig or the tab washer will keep it in place should it decide to move.

I'm of the opinion that it is unnessary, once the gear housing is installed and torqued.
