I need some prices I had a friend come to me yesterday and ask me to slid his plate forward for him so I said cool lets do it. well in the middle of sliding his plate up he mentioned to me something about an oil leak and I jokeingly replied oh you know about the kdp right he said no so I explained it to him. well after I finished with the plate I said let me take a look and see if I can find where that leak is comming from. well after about 3-4 min of looking I found the problem it is a 4 inch crack right behind hormonic balencer and pully.

well needless to say he is not a happy camper so I told him I would fix it for him. ani't I nice:D

now for the questions

I know the gasket set is about $65 but I don't know about the other stuff ie. the cover, and the pin

does anyone knwo where to get this stuff besides dodge and what the prices are?

what about using JB weld (he wants to not me)

and what to charge him for my work??

is it possible that there is gear damage I thought I heard that the teeth would eat it up and spit it into the oilpan?

thanks in advance

Daniel

I think total parts for the repair is $300-$400 if I remember correctly. Cummins gets ~$1500 for the repair (parts and labor). Hope this helps.

Seeing stuff like that really makes me appreciate having done the jig fix.

Another big THANK YOU to CPFF!!

Either fix, whether jig or tab is big peace of mind. This is where an ounce of prevention is worth about ten pounds of cure. :)

You won't know the extent of the damage until you get in there. One of the bolts fell out of my friends truck (KDP was intact) and the gear snapped off the end of the camshaft.

You can get the parts from Dodge or go to any big truck place.

seal

well it turned out that the seal was the problem. thanks for all teh help sorry it took so long to right back.
