It finally happened, after 138k my dowel pin dropped out  what a day. Call the local Cummins dealer gave me a price to fix not to bad little over a grand. Now the moral of the story, "If you haven't taken care of your KDP DO IT NOW, and I MEAN NOW!!!!! I justed waited to long.

Cummins price on replacing the case has dropped because they no longer remove the cam to remove the case, eliminates about half the work. Instead they pull the gear off the cam then heat it to replace it.

In fact they have a special tool kit just for repairing the damage from what the they say is the "rare" problem with the pin falling out.

I would get on the site and read about the KDP and get paranoid --but do nothing. I have what I consider a prime candidate for the dowel pin to fall out --a '97 12v. Last month, through the efforts of Denis (DodgeM37), the operation was done! Thanks Denis ( Now what should I worry about???) It isn't a difficult job --just take you time--took us about two hours with no great hurry. We used the jig and drilled and tapped the case. Finally, three big cheers for whoever designed the jig. It sure is good to deal with people who do something for someone else's benefit without $$$$$ being involved. thanks guys.

The jigs were made by CPFF

I sent him a note and a donation for his efforts. He must've put in a lot of time to help us save some time and money. (and have one less thing to worry about)

I also appreciate the keepers of the jigs and their help in keeping the jigs moving to the people on the lists.
