He set that in 1999, I just ran across it and Dr. P's record on the Dry Lake.

What category did you take at the Texas Mile and which event? They have the results posted from all of their events ever www.texasmile.com.

if I had had time this year , that was going to be a fun thing thing to look in too, I would guess that 200 would not be out of the question ,

Keating set that record in his Dually... in fact, the last motor in the tube truck was the motor in that Dually, but that was some time ago and lots of changes since. When he showed up, he asked how fast he could go without a rollcage. They told him 130 and laughed. After he made the run, the handed him his slip and asked him to not come back... lol.

He has at least one, and maybe 2 land speed records on motorcycles.

these are the Bonneville records. Check Carl Heap's Unlimited record at 272. 685

So, we take the dragster, and enter it as a "lakester" and what would the record be we would need to run? Is there a Diesel Lakester class?

There isn't a lakester class that I know of but there should be. Also anything that would shield the wheels would make it a streamliner. The 236 mph set in 73 was a Detriot 6-71 with twin turbos through the blower. I will check into the feasability of a lakester.

Please do check. I have 3 friends that run B-Ville, the Burklands, with the twin Hemi powered streamliner record holder, and the 2 Cummins cars, a 4BT roadster of Steve Mallicoat, (another Cummins distributor employee) and the C/DS Chassis Engineering Streamlier. I gave them a block for that one after scoring the first one.

I have always been intrigued with running on salt... Must be the Margarita factor... .
