Al,

I agree with the others - that you should maybe look into finding a way to get both . . think of the fun. . drag races... pull offs... ;)

All I know is that while I may own a newer model truck in my life, I'm going to be buried in this one!!! :D

(Best wishes whatever you decide)

I agree with you guys, the best thing would be to keep the 1992 and get the 2002 for "THE FIRST LADY", but unfortunately she doesn't like the idea. She would rather drive a car around town. Well I am still talking to myself:-{} trying to figure out what I should do.

To change or not to change?

Al, I'm thinking of doing the same thing myself. My D250 has 250,000 km on it. Had to use the chains a couple of times this summer to get out of somewhere with the trailer when a 4 x 4 would not have had a problem. Know of a 2000 4 x 4 long box that may be for sale, seriously considering moving into my second diesel.

Cheers.

Sounds like an opportunity to pick up a used TDI! Keep your '92, and still have a pair of diesels! :D

That's what I've been telling my wife. We have been thinking about what we want to replace her Cherokee with next, and I've been pushing the Jetta TDI idea. 49+ mpg sounds good. Our only concern is back seat room for our two fast-growing kids. She can drive my truck, but she's kind of hard on the clutch. :) She prefers an auto and I insist on a manual. :-{}

CAN i HAVE A HALL PASS PLEASE?

Find a way to keep your old one. Once you deal with the fact that turning the radio up too loud could void the warranty may scare you into not modifying your new truck. I think the reason the Edge EZ is so popular is that many people want more power and want something that is easily removable and undectable should there be problems.

I have my eye on a 1988 CTD that is sitting in a phone company fleet yard that has only 43000 on the clock. I have a 2002 HO that I dearly love, but think of the fun one could have by improving a pristine bone stock truck that nobody will drive because it will ''Kill your kidneys on a 5 mile trip'' according to those who have ridden in it.

At the risk of getting slapped up the side of the head, get a 350 gasser chevy- a nice used one for your wife. The 350 and GM autos are very dependable and fit fit many peoples opinion on two things they would sooner live without- a Dodge auto trans or a Chevy Diesel.

Do'nt get mad at me -- just playing Devil's advocate

Ian,

Good to hear from you. Haven't seen you around for a long time.

Sure would like to keep the 92, . :( but I guess the BOSS will continue driving the Oldsmobile instead of the 2002 CTD.

Oo. What do you mean a chevy 350 gasser. I've got a 98 DODGE s. b. 318 slt I'D rather have any day over the chevy. Compare prices also. :-{}Actually it's WIFES truck. Bought new!

About 1 1/2 years ago I asked this same question. Was considering a new truck and the guys here convinced me that I needed to keep the old one. Well, since that decision was made, I had a new paint job, added some under hood chrome, new seats and misc stuff. Ended up winning first place in a show and shine with a trophy about 5 feet tall for the effort. THAT made me feel pretty good!:D

Anyway, one thing I can honestly say about keeping the old truck is the guys here are the best you will find when it comes to offering help to other members when asked. That alone is something to consider. Ask a question and someone like Bushwaker or others will offer advice as to what can be done. These guys have been a great help to me in learning about these trucks over the past few years. Also, there is very little of the bickering here that is present on some of the other forums at times.

My vote is to keep the old truck.

Thats a good one, LOL. She definitely is a keeper, runs really well with low maintenance costs. LOL
