Keep that blown out tire!!!!

Long story short. Keep any blown Goodyear tires. Mine blew on vacation and naturally I left it behind. On trip home another blew. Goodyear made adjustments on all tires and paid for damage to TT. They wouldnt pay for the first to blow because i couldnt produce the tire[even though I had reciept for the replacement tire]. Marathon Radial Owners Beware.

Good to know. I have had horrible experiences from goodyear on previous vehicles, but have been told the marathon tires are amongst the best for TT and 5ers. We'll see. How old were the tires you had blow?

What was that commericial about when your second best you try harder? I really like the traction and feel of Coopers but it seems like only the "hole in the wall" shops carry them... thus no guarantee.

I really like the Cooper tires as well. I have been running them for years, and the best dealer in the area is a Cooper dealer!

If you are running Goodyears, look on the side of the tire at the end of the Goodyear name. If it is their latest/greatest tire it will have a circle with an "S" in it about the size of a dime. I just bought a 95 Wilderness 5th wheel at an auction and blew a tire on the way home. Took the remains to my Goodyear dealer down the street. It had no "S". They are replacing ALL the tires on the coach for a little over a hundred bucks! Also, you boys that are running 15" wheels and tires, there are two differant load ratings for those tires in the "ST" line. You want the ones that are rated for 65# of tire pressure. Air them to 65# and keep them there.

I would definetly keep the blown tire as I just bought tires for my trailer and with less then 1500 miles/1 month the one tire blew and I managed to stop the trailer and truck before the tire shreaded to bits. So when I finally did get home I took it in to get my replacement tire without too many hassles. The tire I had was a Uniroyal Towmaster 205/75/15 which I think is similar to Goodyear, but not sure.

I blew a tire out of Bozeman several years ago and when it went, it took out about a 12" hole in the front of the camper and beating the rear quarter panel off my truck, after we jack-knifed on interstate. When the Uniroyal guy in Bozeman saw that the tire was defective and had thrown all but about 10" of tread, he gave me an 800 number to call and said they would pay for all the damages. I thought sure! After the trip I did call, they asked for 3 estimates, and after they verified that the tire was in fact defective, paid for the pickup and camper repairs. They said that they had to because fed. law required them to.

Appples to Goodyear Marathon 225/75/R15 Load range D without the circle S behind Marathon. I have the same tires in Load range C and they say that they are OK. 4. 5 years and not a problem, however I check them for bumps in the tread area each tow. Looked at a friends Load range D and he had a bump. Snow King
