My First Banks Experience

I am now Smarty Jr tuned!!

I am simply trying to find ways to cool the transmission more effectively.

Since nobody in this group can recommend high temperature transmission fluid, I will stick with increased cooling.

I typically do not see transmission temperature rising unless I am towing my 10,000 pound trailer at least 1000 feet up a mountain.

I want to go up mountains without having to watch temperature so carefully. I do not know a whole lot about what generates heat in a transmission.

Here is what I have learned to minimize temperature while towing my trailer:
1. When in town, shift to neutral at stop lights and shift through the gears like a manual transmission.
2. Keep the turbo boost low. 10" at most, 6" when temperature is tending to rise.
3. Keep the RPM between 2000 and 2500 RPM and downshift when the RPM drops knowing that increasing turbo boost will also increase transmission temperature.
