And now for the turd in the punchbowl. I don't think we should subsidize any ag products! We should all pay what it costs to grow our food. You might remember about a dozen years ago, the Govt sponsored a dairy herd buyout, to alleviate an over supply of milk products. Several years later they were giving low interest loans and even grants to get farmers back into the dairy business. Farming is a business, and it should be treated as such. Washington wastes our money and the farmers are no better off for it. It has been said many times before, and it applies to to what's going on in Washington now, Men will meet behind closed doors. Cigars will be smoked, brandy will be poured, and the people on the other side of the doors will suffer.

I agree that the gov. should not be playing in the ag markets.

But they are.

Gov should never be in the free enterprise markets.

Look at what they did to the housing markets.

Locally they are telling landlords how much they can rent the house for!!!

They call it 'affordable housing'. And they changed the rules mid contract !!!! A $750 rent just became $525 because niether the tenant or the gov can pay full price. Landlords are getting out of section 8.

No one can compete with the rule makers!!!

Now, it is just wrong for the rulemaker to stop playing after they realize the game can't afford them.

Congress is playing chicken with our money, laws, and hearts.

The reason conveniece/gas stores could sell milk cheaper is that the big supper markets get guarantee on the expiration date which make the price of milk higher. The conveniece/gas stores are not paying for the expiration date quarantee (which means if the milk goes out of date they drink it).

Both conveniece/gas store and supper markets use milk as a "loss leader" (at least when I was in the grocery business they did).

I thought it might be like gas. Jobbers buy MILLIONS of GALLONS of gas at a set price hopping it wont go down in the next few days. They buy low and sell high. But I have seen it when the station dealer would NOT WANT YOU TO LOAD THE LOAD ON TRUCK before NOON because the price is going to drop. IN GAS ITS ALL A BIG GAME AND INFO AND DRIVERS LOADING CAN MAKE OR BREAK THE DEALER. If the RAG HEAD was an A** the last time I was in and he made me pay for my coffee that went in MY MUG to save him the cost of the cup, F YOU HABIBE. :-laf FILLER UP TO THE TOP!!!!

Hey BIG, ya ever wonder what ol Habibe did to your cup of coffee when you wasnt lookin to "get even" with your previous fill ups  :-laf
