Moving to Twin Cities Area

I have never seen a kerosene pump since I moved out here. I have a little 50,000 BTU heater I would like to used this week and I can't find any fuel for it.

I'm at Hyw 55 and 52nd area (south east minneapolis). I work near NewHope. And I fuel up typicaly around 55 and 494 area. Anyone know where there are stations that have this fuel near where I travel most?

I do not use it and I do not get to mpls much , so if your in the nieghborhood , Ive seen it at marshall & hamline -st paul then fleetfarm on hwy 36 & 494 see if theres a fleetfarm closer to ya , I haven't noticed to many posts that state the twin city area , should have a bull session with a few in the area.

Maybe an Exxon station? I know in Maine there are kerosene, fuel oil and off highway diesel pumps at just about every Exxon station.

I believe Wal-Mart sells the no-fume Kerosene for indoor heaters, it's fairly expensive compared to Kerosene though.

I can confirm the Fleet Farm on 36 and 694, but that is not close to new hope. The other place I have found it is at a Cenex in Lake Elmo, also not close to NH. Look for a Cenex or similar farmers coop type store. Hope this helps.

There is a gas station at about the 500 block of old highway 8 in new brighton it has kerosene at the pump a few days ago it was going for $4. 00 a gallon they also have dyed diesel fuel there.

I am paying $3. 81 plus tax per gallon here for Kerosene, comes out to $61 for 15 gallons. Lowes and home Depot have it in 5 gallon cans but charge about $31/5 gal. Check the yellow Pages; it was listed here in Albuquerque's YP.

If your heater is what some call a salamander like for the shop, just use diesel. If it like a kerosun then you should most likely stay with kerosene.

I used to get mine (50 gal kerosene at a time) from my farm supply fuel distributer.

No worries, The Fleet Farm on Hwy 81 and 169 in Fridley (about 2 miles north of 694) has water clear kerosene at the pump, prices are as good as I have seen anywhere, I use a 35,000 btu unit to heat the house most of the time.

Ask for the exemption certificate at the register, home heating is NOT sales taxable in MN.

Good Luck.
