Kerry Dodge is sucking

Kerry Dodges' service manager told me today that they cannot order a new trackbar for my truck without seeing it first. I told them that it has nearly 1/4 inch play and is way over spec. The service manager then told me that the ram uses different ones for each year, and each style. I then offered Vin. He still refused. I do not have time to spend a day just to order parts then another day or 2 getting it fixed.



Is there an affordable replacement out there (not lukes links)

NAPA lifetime warenty. Not sure of the price,but I don't think it's to expensive.

Napa number on my last tracbar dated 6/00 is 272-4229, price $179. I'm almost positive the bar is the same from 94 to at least 01.

Trackbar

If the dealer sells alot of trucks, or is a high volume dealer, they will have the parts needed in stock. Especially parts that have a high failure rate (ie: trackbars). I've taken my cars/trucks to the dealer for service work and haven't had to wait for parts. I say you paid alot of money for the truck and the warranty that goes with it, might as well use it. But then again, it looks like you are your own warranty station! Good luck on your quest!

Why not a Luke's link? It's a way better design, seems for my truck to last longer, can be re-tightened or rebuilt and is relatively cheap... plus no dealer to bother with easy to install.

Track bar is different on early '94's (smaller pin). All others (except maybe 00-01) are the same.



When you go to the dealer to have it checked, they (the service writer) should be able to lay under the front and look at the movement while you wait.
