Just got off phone with service mgr. He said that the tsb for cold idle, and 3 cylinder shutdown is Not a chrysler tsb. And he would need a valid customer complaint for it either way. Is this true???

no. . not true. The TSB has a labor code in it he can charge back. If he wants a complaint tell him your truck is running rough on cold mornings and takes years to heat up.

If he's dumb enough not to know this this it shoulb be easy to outsmart him.

They did the reflash

Well, they said that they did it. There is a sticker on the hood (underside) now. and the warranty work shows a reflash for it. But it does not list the TSB # . Is there a way to fool the truck into thinking it is friggin cold to test it.

I got Shafted

THey gave me the TSB 18-015-00 . I called dealer. He said the tech made mistake, and they will enable the the cold fast idle on monday. This sucks. . :{

Fooling truck

Go to your local Krogers and sneak your CTD into their meat cooler. Tell them you thought is was their new drive through. This should get the truck cool enough. :D

what exactly is high idle?

I mean, how many RPMs and at what point should I expect to see it? My truck idles the same no matter what, except if I'm moving at more than about 15 mph with the trans in N or clutch in. Then it's about 100 RPM higher and when I slow for the stop, it drops to normal.

Funny this topic should come up. My dealer tried to install it last Fall and was unsucessful... said they would get back to me when they figgured out why it wouldn't install. They called back and left a message yesterday. I talked to the mechanic today... ... He said they could and would install (reflash) it if I wanted but he didn't reccomend it. His feeling was that the Cummins should not idle for long periods of time regardless. His thought was that the TSB was primarly for Arctic use. I agreed with his recomendation and decided not to do it. The one or two times I might need it (up in northern Minn. during hunting season) I'll use the "stick" method. He thought that was a good idea. Also, the first time I went in (to the dealer) and also with this morning's conversation there was no question that I could have the TSB installed if I wanted and there would be no charge since my truck is still under warranty.
