I have a 2004. 5 SLT with keyless entry but no alarm. The key is black in color. From what I have read, I don't think this is a sentry key. Where can I get additional blanks to make some extra keys?

how about home depot??? when i get time, i will get a few keys cut there for mine, but i don't want them with the chip in them. they will just be for opening the doors [hide a key thing] but it won't make the truck run for long.

The sentry key has a gray plastic head, thicker than the black non-sentry head. Ilco, Cole, etc. make standard blanks that work, but with the sentry system aren't going to run the engine more than a few seconds. They will work fine with the regular system that takes the black headed key.

I always got a couple of extras when I picked up my new truck from my dealer at no charge.

My '03 has the key-less entry plus the security system. The key has an embedded chip in it to operate the ignition and costs about $30 for a replacement. The replacement key has to be programmed to use in the ignition or the engine won't run more than a few seconds.

I needed a couple of extra door keys to use to lock my doors while the engine is running while the truck is parked with the A/C on. (I like to use this feature to keep the senior-citizen weenie dog cool!:)) My dealer cut a couple plain keys to work the doors free of charge. They will work the doors only.
