Key Chime

I have a 2012 2500 4X4 Crew cab 6'4" bed with the Laramie trim package on order. Does anyone know how to disable the chime that sounds when the key is left in the ignition and the drivers door is opened?



I found a post online for a 2005 but nothing for 2010 or newer.

I don't think you can. If you can, it will be done thru the EVIC display.

I just take a screwdriver and flip the latch in the door. You just have to remember to pull the door handle before you can close the door.

Thanks guys for the input. After I get the truck I might see if I can find the control wire. If I have any luck I will post the results.

You'll have to investigate and be ready to reconnect what you snip. I silenced my 03 chime by cutting one little wire in the steering column and it was pretty simple. Hopefully with newer electronics, the "key in" signal is not integrated into something more important than just annoying chimes.
