Key Fob help

I purchased a 2013 Ram 2500 in January. I replaced a 14 1500 Laramie crew cab. My truck only had 1 factory Fob. I stopped by a local locksmith and they said it had to be done at dealer. I have found a few places on line that sell the fob, but it still states that the key must be programmed at dealer. Any one tried the online sources for Fobs? If the dealer is only way then I will do that. Its too bad I cant use the Fob from my 14 and have it reprogrammed.

I have done this. I purchased the key off Amazon with a blank. The dealer programed it for 50.00 and cut my blank.

I don't have the keyless push button start. I've got the basic fob that gets stuck into the dash and turned.

I had to replace the batteries. And at first after replacing the batteries, the truck did not recognize the fob for locking/onlocking doors.

But after inserting in the dash and starting the truck, the truck started recognizing the fob again.

Just a heads up,we see the non oem fobs are hit and miss on functionality.

i bought a fob off of Ebay (they were selling OEM fobs, never been programmed)... Dealer programmed it for me just fine.
