Just got a 2015 to replace my tired and rusted '03. Love it so far, and was able to silence the seatbelt chime, but the alert that my door is open while the key is still in the ignition is driving me crazy. I haven't been able to find a way to easily silence it. (yet)

I read somewhere of an owner that pulled apart his dash and instrument cluster and found the offensive little noisemaker, and silenced it for good. Problem with that is there are probably no chimes when something gets too hot or too low.

There seems to be some extra wires on the wiring diagram. The door ajar switches just have 1 wire, but for the return sensors, it shows a pair of wires. Not sure if the G and P numbers indicate where they go.

Wiring diagram shows the following connections to the Body Control Module:

Position 9 Violet DRIV DOOR AJAR G75
10 Tan/Brn DR LK SW RTN DRVR P371
23 Vio/Wht PAS DOOR AJAR SW SNS G74
24 Tan/Org DR LK SW RTN PASS P372

I'm thinking if I just clip the violet wire, it might be quiet, but it also dark-- No dome light. (or alarm?) I've thought about clipping it and splicing the driver switch in with passenger side violet and white, hoping it would just think the passenger door was the only one ever used. I'm not sure anything would work unless both doors were open.

HELP!

Well, I just pull the key a quarter inch and there is silence.

I wouldn't molest a can bus system with clipping cables, you'll never know what else is implemented in those electronic circuits.
Pandoras Box.

I assume you have asked the dealer if there is a software switch they can change for this? Some key in ignition is getting smart like open door and put key in doesn't chime, but open door with key in does. (2007+ GMC Yukon for example.)

Loosing an engine for lack of a overheat chime is a small price to pay to shut up the needless constant nagging chime of other stuff.

Swapping wires - does the radio turn off with the driver side door opening, but, stay on with the passenger side door opening?

For those desiring to at least kill the seat belt chime:

1. With all doors closed and the ignition switch in the off position, buckle the driver’s seat belt.

2. Turn or push the ignition switch to the ON position and wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.

3. Within 60 seconds of turning the ignition switch to the ON position, unbuckle and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt four times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled.

4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK/OFF position. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming. The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.

I've done that to my 11 and it lasts for a couple of start cycles and then reverts back to annoying.

I've got to find the wires under the dash at this body control module. If the latch grounds the wire when the door is opened, connecting it with the right side should work.

Can't do that with the new trucks, the "key" only goes in about a quarter inch. I did silence my '03 years ago. There's a wire that was labeled on the diagrams as key-in sense or something like that. Clipping it gave me peace with no downside.

I have now silenced my '15 as well. YEE HA!

The Body Control Module is on the firewall forward of the parking brake pedal. It's a flat white plastic box with a handful of connectors, each with a wrapped bundle of wires. The white connector on the right side of it has the wires for driver and passenger doors. (violet and violet w/white tracer respectively) I cut the driver and spliced the tail of it to the passenger side. Now the truck just thinks I'm going in and out thru the passenger door. Everything else seems to be working without any change, except I notice headlights don't chime either. Must be a driver door only function, but they turn themselves off anyway.

Sorry I read the first post too quickly and see now that it is the key in chime you are looking to disable.

Seat belt chime is easy; directions in the owners manual.

Leaving your key in and opening the door sounded the alarm like it was some kind of disaster with an urgent sounding chime. I rarely lock, and often don't remove the key.

Wow.
Might want to look at your insurance policy ... where I live you are NOT covered for theft if you leave your keys in your vehicle and it gets taken.
