keycard question

I have been tasked into looking into Keycard type systems fot my fire dept. I am loooking at HID keyfob cards. Dose anyone know anything about these and these types of systems that I can bounce some questions off. Thanks for all your help.

We have a key card system where I work. We have both key fob and credit card type gizmos (it's an industry term). I prefer the credit card type as I leave it in my wallet and just get my wallet close the the reader to badge in. Don'e have any more to offer than that.
