2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Keyless remote?

Does anyone know if 1998 trucks came with keyless remotes? I'd sure like to

just go with an aftermarket alarm remote start it will do it all for you!

mine works awesome!!! and its less $$$ then factory

The 1998 had an EVS11 system installed mostly by the dealer. Plugs into factory harness. Should still be available.

I bought one for $30 from JC Whitney for my 02'. Install was easy and quick, it's my favorite mod. Sometimes I wish for the park lights to flash and honk the horn of the factory system, but I love it.

Will the EVS11 system honk the horn and flash the lights?

TheEVS11 system is the securiyt system, will sound alarm, etc. If you just want the door locks, I have been told that the solenoids in the J C Whitney kit are much larger than the factory.
