Turbo measurement questions

Guy at work is going through a buy back on his 2004 1/2 ton Ford. Seems it has had a vibration since day one. I actually thought he bought a Taurus since that is what I always see him in. One day he pulls in with a truck and I asked what happened to the Taurus. That is when he explained the vibration deal. Anyway his truck has been in 6 times for weeks at a time

Nice guy who drove Fords all his life. Looking at Dodges now.

Told me his buddy just bought a 6. 0, his has ONLY been back twice in the month he has owned it  Man Makes my 53 potential problem seem nice.

HMMmmmm - you must not be reading over in the 3rd generation forums, where similar vibration problems are plaguing Dodge truck owners:

(EDIT) I see the search pointed to above has expired - but just do a search in the 3rd generation forum - no engine section, searching on "vibration" and you get a LOOOoooong list of complaints...

- sure hate to see the Ford guy just get burned again on what he thinks is a vibration free truck. No, ALL Dodges DON'T vibrate - but all FORDS don't, either!

And for what it's worth, our son-in-law is going thru a GM buy-back on HIS truck for exactly the same reason... ;)

Hmmmm what makes you say that

I read all about the Dodge third gen vibration problem. That is one reason I'll keep my 53. Just have heard way too many problems out of Ford lately.

You don't have to kick em if you don't want to, we gotta a long line anyway :-laf

The way I see it The American truck makers may be taking their dominance in the category for granted. As all the "new" truck people flock to pickups instead of station wagons or whatever, some have forgotten that many of us "old" truck buyers purchase trucks for superior quality period.

FWIW, The best trucks I ever owned as far as lack of problems go were an 85 and a 95 ford Ranger 4sp, 4 cyl. 200,000 trouble free outta both before selling for good$$. I mean nothing but changing oil, filters, and one set of plugs in each. Literally nothing else :-laf

Now I love the CTD and am hooked on the power but I sometimes get :( about all the $$$ it costs me. Makes me feel like a drug addict sometimes :-laf
